Job Description: Breakfast Cook
The Cook ensures that all products on the Hot Choice Buffet are of high quality, sufficient quantity, delicious, and freshly prepared. Special emphasis is given by the Cook to maintain efficiency, cleanliness, orderliness, and adherence to product standards within the kitchen.
Food Production:
- Prepares various dishes from the Hot Choice Buffet line, such as Carving and Display Cooking items, following the recipes and guidelines provided by Golden Corral.
- Cooks all items in adherence to Golden Corral guidelines to maintain consistent quality.
- Guarantees the consistent freshness and heat of every fried item.
- If the Buffet Attendant is not present, the Cook is responsible for replenishing the items on the Display Cooking Station.
- If the Carver is not present, they help guests by offering alternative choices of carved meats.
- Ensuring full adherence and implementation of the buffet production system to guarantee quality and meet shelf life standards.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensures all items are kept at the appropriate temperature throughout the cooking, holding, and serving process.
- Utilizes the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide for managing the stock of all hot cook items.
- Carries out the initiation and conclusion of administrative protocols.
- Follows the guidelines outlined in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the appropriate care and upkeep of machinery.
- Manages food inventory through the FIFO method, ensuring items are replenished and rotated regularly.
- Verifies product stock and reconciles it with the Manager's build-to list at the start and conclusion of every shift.
Cleanliness:
- Verifies the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen utensils to maintain hygienic standards.
- Executes the duty schedule and guarantees that cleanliness, customer service, and quality criteria are upheld.
- Adheres to regulations set by the local health department.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the char grill by regularly removing residue to uphold both food quality and hygiene standards.
Guest Service:
- Guarantees the continuous warmth and freshness of Hot Choice Buffet items, encompassing Display Cooking selections, to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Understands and adheres to the duties associated with just-in-time delivery.
- Shows kindness and politeness towards visitors and supports them with the merchandise.
- Upholds a standard of professional communication consistently.
