It is the Cook's duty to uphold the standards of the Hot Choice Buffet by overseeing the quality, quantity, flavor, and freshness of the food items. The Cook also prioritizes maintaining a quick pace of service, cleanliness, proper arrangement, and adherence to product guidelines.

Food Production:
- Follows Golden Corral's instructions and recipes to prepare a range of Hot Choice Buffet offerings, including Carving and Display Cooking selections.
- Prepares all dishes following the standards set by Golden Corral for optimal taste and presentation.
- Maintains a standard of ensuring all fried products are served fresh and piping hot.
- In the event that the Buffet Attendant is not around, the Cook takes on the task of refilling the items on the Display Cooking Station.
- In the absence of the Carver, they aid guests in selecting from a variety of carved meat options.
- Complete utilization and observance of the buffet production system to maintain quality and adhere to shelf life requirements.
Operational Excellence:
- Maintains the proper temperature for all items while cooking, storing, and serving.
- Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to track the inventory of hot cook products.
- Manages the commencement and conclusion of administrative tasks.
- Adheres to the instructions specified in the Equipment Maintenance manual for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
- Utilizes the first-in, first-out strategy to restock and rotate food supplies efficiently.
- Conducts product checks and compares them with the Manager's inventory plan at the start and end of each work period.
Cleanliness:
- Inspects the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and kitchen tools to ensure safe food preparation.
- Manages the duty roster and verifies that standards of cleanliness, service, and quality are achieved.
- Complies with guidelines established by the local health authorities.
- Ensure the char grill remains spotless and free of debris for optimal product quality and sanitation measures.
Guest Service:
- Maintains the quality of Hot Choice Buffet offerings, such as Display Cooking items, by ensuring they remain heated and freshly prepared for guests to enjoy.
- Comprehends and complies with the job responsibilities connected to just-in-time delivery.
- Demonstrates a welcoming and respectful attitude towards customers while aiding them with their needs.
- Adheres to formal communication protocols on a continual basis.
