POSITION SUMMARY
Organize the food elements for cooking by severing, chopping, and preserving the food items. Thoroughly clean and peel fresh vegetables and fruits prior to dicing. Determine, measure, and blend ingredients. Be guided by recipe, quality norms, appearance, sanitation guidelines, and food preparation to prepare and cook dishes. Arrange dishes that must be served chilled. Be adept at dealing with kitchen appliances—ovens, stovetops, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Evaluate whether food items are well-done by conducting a test. Be meticulous about food quality while cooking. Arrange and clean up the workstation. Offer the right quantity of food in the appropriate serving plates. Sanitize the kitchen workspace, desks, utensils, and knives. Situate and control the temperature of the appliances and food items.
Comply with the organization's requirements on safety, security, and policies, and report any irregularities or risk situations to the supervisor. Undertake mandatory safety training and certifications to maintain workplace safety.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Before applying, make sure you have completed high school or obtained an equivalent G.E.D. certification.
The applicant must have at least one year of relevant work experience.
Not Proficient in Managing Others: No proficiency in directing, controlling, and organizing tasks and activities of subordinates.
